Stampfest with a friend

Last week on January 20th I had a wonderful day stamping with my friend, Lynette. Here are the results of our "Stampfest". As you can see, Easel Cards are still on our minds. We explored some Valentine ideas. Also, we experimented  "resist" images on kraft paper with Distress Embossing Ink and clear embossing powder.

Some of the materials we used:
Stamps: Hero Arts, Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous, Stampin' Up!
Inks: Ranger Distress inks, Stampin' Up!
and my new fav. punch, EK success Medallion chain large edger punch.

2012 Number Calendar

Here is my 2012 "number" calendar. Hetty, my friend from Craft Chaos,  introduced me to her cool number calendars a few years ago.  You can find Hetty's 2012 number calendar and the mini template for 2012 on her blog post Calendar 2012. I just realized I'm visually challenged and needed a mini calendar that begins with Sunday, so found THIS mini calendar on Mary's Blog, Very Merry Vintage Style.
Cat and dog stamp are Mini Cloisonne Pets from Michael Strong. Flowers, twigs and grass are Stamps by Judith.

Winter Tags & Grinch Quilt

Sharing some Winter fun.

PEACE ON EARTH - the theme from the 2011 Winter tag swap from Creative Stamping Friends a yahoo group.

A Grinch Quilt that I sewed for a friend.
A sewing store, Material Girl in Crystal Lake, IL had instructions and prepared all the fabric needed in a custom kit. I made 2 of these for my friend's 2 daughters. It was fun to see this come together. I learned some techniques along the way, thanks to two dear friends who became my mentors!!! I also borrowed a quilting book, special bent quilt pins, and other supplies! Thanks my dear friends!!!

Close up of the binding. The instructions were to use various fabrics for the binding. I was pleased to learn how to do a quick and easy binding!
Close up view of the printed panel fabric for the Grinch Quilt. The design/instructions were included in the kit prepared by the store, Material Girl in Crystal Lake, IL.

Happy New Year

Some things I've been making...Birthday  Cards, a Name Frame and an Ornament for a challenge.
This card for my daughter's birthday.  She loves Audrey.

Made this card for younger daughter to give to the birthday girl.

This Name Frame (for an 8 x 10 inch picture frame) is for the newest member of our family, a grand nephew, Lincoln, who was baptized today, Jan. 1, 2012!

An ornament made for the Michael Strong Yahoo Group for Mike's December Challenge. You can find the template HERE
